Key information
Guidance appointments in person take place in various locations by agreement: in UCL buildings or other places in London, or various locations in Cambridge in the UK. With reasonable notice meetings can also be arranged in Australia and Singapore. Guidance appointments can also be done virtually, via Teams, Facetime, Zoom, etc.
Career guidance sessions are designed to help you think and talk through what you want and what your priorities will be. The role of the Careers Advisor is not to influence you or 'tell you what to do', but to help you consider things carefully, and get an overview, or floorplan, of the landscape of careers, qualifications and opportunities. During this your interest will often be sparked by opportunities you did not even know existed. Your advisor helps you avoid common pitfalls, and have time out to get a clearer view of what your options are.
You are then encouraged to agree Action Points, to help you take your thinking further and make a viable plan for the short to medium term, whether that's which course and university to apply for, or which career/profession/professional qualification to pursue.
Further advice is available, charged by the half hour or hour.
Yes, it is kept in accordance with our Privacy Policy and current GDPR legislation. Your details will never be shared with a university or employer without your specific permission and at your own request.
Not at all. The aim is to give you an overview of career areas and options, spark ideas and help you consider what you might want to pursue. We will generate career ideas for you to explore further.
